Silk Road

Never felt so alone

Stretched to my core and bone

Encompassed by sand dune

Distant hisses of rattle snakes

Merchants and mercenaries selling fakes

Behind my soul train of shame and capes

A certified loner on this Silk Road

A seeker longing for something to hold

I locked eyes with Jesus as he was being sold

For 30 pieces of silver like a lab rat

Something in me was falling apart

He told me it was the cost of my paper heart

Crazy how he is willing to die for it

Huh, how could he see treasure in this guilt

scribble his signature to make it legit

I wont even give a gift of me to me

But he would wear me like a pendant on his sleeve

Close to where those nails bore

It's what i still adore
